How do I sign up for the Meditative Art course?
Are you a school, organization, or museum interested in offering the Meditative Art course at your institution? Please fill out the form in the Contact section, and we’ll get back to you soon. Thank you!
What are the differences between Meditative Art and Art Therapy?
The two methodologies differ in their approach: pedagogical in the case of Meditative Art, and therapeutic in the case of Art Therapy. Art Therapy represents a therapeutic process that complements psychotherapy, while Meditative Art aims to develop an individual discipline free of intermediaries, based on the practices of meditation and art. It is not, therefore, a form of treatment, but a personal method of interpreting the world that avoids qualitative comparisons between individuals.
Can this course be offered to children?
No, the course is designed and tailored for adults.
Does the course have any religious elements?
No. Arte Meditativa is a completely secular project, even though it uses meditative practices from the Buddhist tradition.
Are there any warnings and/or contraindications for the course?
No, there are no contraindications to report. The course is grounded in the value of the subjectivity of experience; therefore, it is impossible to predict the stages of the journey that will unfold along the way, nor the personal dynamics involved. We suggest approaching the course with serenity and a lighthearted attitude, trusting that the joy of the artistic experience will help soften any intense emotions that may arise during the meditative practice.
